Care Quality Commission
Unite Healthcare Ltd is a registered care provider with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and our registration number 1-518855288. During our last inspection in October 2020, we were assessed as “Good” in all categories and “Good” overall.
Why is our CQC registration important?
CQC are the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They ensure health and social care provides deliver safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led services. They monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. They then publish their findings, including performance ratings to help people when selecting a care provider.
CQC has the power to act when providers do not reach the required standard. These powers include issuing warnings, fines, improvement plans and suspensions. They ultimately have the power to withdraw a provider’s registration, meaning they are unable to operate.
It is worth noting that some companies are not CQC registered. This means they do not have to adhere the fundamental standards set by CQC. To be sure you can ask them to send you a copy of their CQC report or search for them on their website. If they cannot then they may well be an introductory agency where their responsibilities are likely to be very different.
